All Advanse’s training programs (AMERIGO, SPRINT, Custom Executive Internships, and Discovery Missions) share a common element—experiential learning. We believe that people learn and retain knowledge best by doing. So, we provide a base of knowledge through seminars and workshops. The main part of the training involves hands-on participation, through internships and visits to appropriate companies and institutions.

AMERIGO

For 12 years, Advanse International and LUISS-Guido Carli University in Rome, Italy, have offered a training program that covers the theory and practice of doing business internationally, particularly in North America. AMERIGO (AMerican Experience and Research In Global Organizations) is an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in working in an international environment to gain exposure to international organizations and to the challenges and rewards of doing business cross-culturally.

The seminars, focusing from the practitioner’s viewpoint, expose participants to the elements of business culture and communications that they will need to apply during their internships and throughout their careers. Participants must complete assignments, group projects and case studies. They must also prepare a final written assignment and give a presentation on a topic relevant to international business. The internship provides participants with experience at organizations in the Washington, DC area, where they can observe and participate in American business culture and practices. The program encourages participants to pursue a proactive approach and to take positive and mature initiatives throughout their internship.

The program fee covers internship placement and monitoring, all seminars, workshops, materials, activities and events. Participants are responsible for the costs of travel, housing, insurance and living expenses. The program lasts approximately three months and runs during both the fall and spring semesters.

AMERIGO offers a valuable experience for participants and host organizations alike, positively influencing the professional and personal growth of participants and providing enriching contributions to the host organizations.

SPRINT

Advanse’s Summer PRogram in INTernationalization (SPRINT) integrates the theory and practice of international business for soon-to-be and recent graduates from selected universities in Europe and the southern Mediterranean. SPRINT bridges the academic and professional environments, allowing students to apply their academic knowledge in the practical world of work. It encourages the international mobility of students, enhancing their knowledge and experience of other cultures. It also promotes the international development of the universities and provides them with new ties to the business world.

The program, which is conducted entirely in English, is hosted in Washington, DC. It consists of intensive courses, seminars, workshops, company visits and practical exercises. It culminates in the presentation of a business plan or a marketing plan that is judged by a panel of experts.

The program fee includes all course, seminar, workshop, practical exercise and materials fees, as well as accommodations and special events. The intensive four-week program is held in August.

Custom Executive Internships

Advanse offers tailored executive internships with an organization in your industry or sector in the US, enabling you to perfect your business English, establish new relationships, and gain the practical experience and knowledge you need to succeed in international business.

Based on your requirements, we identify best-in-class organizations in your field, work with you to select the preferred organization(s), negotiate the details of the internship with them (activities and tasks, mentorship, location, etc.), arrange all logistics and monitor your progress throughout the internship. Upon request, internships may begin with intensive courses in business English.

Discovery Missions

Advanse organizes concentrated study or “discovery” missions for groups of 5 to 50 or more participants on topics of your choice. These missions typically last one to two weeks and include visits to leading companies or institutions in your field. Based on your requirements, we identify best-in-class organizations in that field, arrange for in-depth visits and discussions with them and manage all the logistics for the group (travel, lodging, transportation, simultaneous translation, etc.).
